As a data driven school, we provide actionable plans that drive children’s assessment and data analysis. We give feedback to parents and ensure that plans are implemented and evaluated periodically. Children are constantly monitored to encourage them to make progress and exceed expectations. In addition to our general review sessions, data review meetings are held with our certificate candidates and the teachers for improvement. Intensive Support Programmes (ISPs) are organised for children as appropriate and the outcomes are benchmarked against the cohort. There are extra sessions for children after school and our certificate candidates benefit from extension classes during half-term and end-of-term holidays.
Our enrichment programs include an annual cultural day where children embrace their different origins and learn to appreciate other people’s cultures. Our founder was a great custodian of
culture, an embodiment of discipline and traditional regard for African values and norms. The school participated in several cultural events at the invitation of the National Council for Arts and Culture and the Nigerian Orientation Agency.
Our annual founder’s chess tournament is a popular event in the calendar of many schools in Abuja and the environs. Both public and private schools are invited to participate in the tournament.
To promote the reading culture, our annual reading fair sensitizes our children and those from other schools to compete by reviewing their favorite books. Our annual mathematics competition, though an internal competition, stimulates our children’s interest in the subject and prepares them for any external competition. Other programs are Nigeria’s independence anniversary, World Teachers Day, and the International Award for Young People (the Duke of Edinburgh International Award).
